A longstanding Summit County tradition, the Great Rubber Duck Race has supported the Summit County community for three decades. The 2017 event was held on Saturday, September 2nd on the Blue River in Breckenridge. Free family activities started at 10:00 am at the Blue River Plaza in Breckenridge including bounce houses, human hamster balls, toddler zone and a community mural.
Sponsored by Breckenridge Grand Vacations/BGV Gives, the 30th Annual Great Rubber Duck Race raised more than $150,000 to benefit The Summit Foundation’s grant and scholarship programs. 885 ducks were adopted in the Hudson Auto Source Kids Duck Dash and a record 416 ducks battled in the Kaiser Permanente Business Battle Duck Race. Over 11,085 ducks swam the Blue River in the Breckenridge Grand Vacations Great Rubber Duck Race. With nearly 200 prizes donated by local businesses, The Summit Foundation is grateful for the generosity of our community.
In addition to the title sponsorship, employees at Breckenridge Grand Vacations have generously devoted time volunteering to sell ducks prior to the races. This year, 34 staff members donated 68 volunteer hours for the event. Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, and duck adopters! Learn More |
