At Breckenridge Grand Vacations, our commitment extends beyond providing exceptional hospitality. Through mindful development, resource conservation, and innovative waste reduction initiatives, we proudly embrace our responsibility to protect the beauty of the place we call home.

By 2030, we aim to have a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and 80% reduction by 2050.

Transportation

Increase EV stations and improve accessibility to shuttles and local e-bike program.

Waste

Increase waste diversion to 80% by 2030.

Energy

Aim to increase investment in renewables to offset electricity to 100% by 2025.

Purchasing

Encourage owners, guests & employees to shop local & seek recycled content products.

Sustainability Timeline

  • 2012

    The High Country Conservation Center recognizes Breckenridge Grand Vacations with the Green Summit Business Award in 2012, 2015, and 2018.

  • 2014

    The Grand Lodge on Peak 7 and Grand Timber Lodge receive a Sustainable Breck Certification.

  • 2014

    The Grand Lodge on Peak 7, Grand Timber Lodge, Breck Inn and Gold Point receive the Trip Advisor Green Leader award.

  • 2015

    Breckenridge Grand Vacations joins the Sustainable Breck Business Program.

  • 2015

    Breckenridge Grand Vacations installs their first EV stations, located at Grand Timber Lodge and the Grand Lodge on Peak 7.

  • 2017

    The Grand Colorado on Peak 8 becomes Green Globes Certified.

  • 2018

    Xcel Energy awards the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 with the Highest Energy Savings – Business Solutions Center award, recognizing their effort in reducing CO2 productions by 822 tons and energy savings of 1,446,575 kWh.

  • 2018

    All locations, including office spaces, become certified Resource Wise Business locations. This effort is ongoing and must be renewed every few years.

  • 2021

    The BGV Sustainability team joins the Climate Action Plan Task Force, paving the way for the future of the Breckenridge community.

  • 2021

    Breckenridge becomes the second town in the world to be Mountain IDEAL certified, with the help of Breckenridge Grand Vacations’ input on sustainability initiatives.

  • 2022

    BGV proudly sponsors the MT2030 Summit which is hosted in Breckenridge.

  • 2022

    In 2013, BGV invested over $1 million into local solar gardens. Then, in 2022, partnered with Pivot Energy to offset electricity usage at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 and Grand Timber Lodge, becoming the largest partner in the hospitality sector.

  • 2023

    All resort locations receive the Booking.com “Travel Sustainable” certification.

  • 2023-2024

    The Grand Lodge on Peak 7 receives the Region 8 Regional Pollution Prevention Recognition Award from the Environmental Protection Agency for natural gas reduction in 2023, followed by Grand Timber Lodge and the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 in 2024.
